The Master of Science in Clinical Psychology (MSCP)* degree will be comprised of a 60-hour, two-year program that would meet the curriculum requirements for certification as a Licensed Psychological Practitioner in the state of Kentucky and correspond to the American Psychological Association (APA) Standards of Accreditation for Health Service Psychology Master’s programs.
The need for mental health services is prevalent and on the rise across the nation, and particularly in Kentucky. According to the Mental Health America (MHA) report on the State of Mental Health, in 2023, an estimated 21.9 percent of adults in Kentucky were identified as having a mental illness, compared to 20.79 nationally
Graduates with a master’s in clinical psychology will be prepared to work in various roles, including clinical practitioners, case managers or program coordinators. They often work in settings such as community mental health centers, hospitals, schools or private practice. The program at Bellarmine University will prepare graduates to provide effective and high-quality service across clinical and community settings.
